Learn to Type
How long does it take to type your draft? Do you find yourself getting frustrated or losing your train of thought as you hunt and peck? Typing is a skill a writer should be able to perform effortlessly, like driving becomes, once we've mastered it. Unless you can afford to pay someone $3 a page to type your work, you need to learn to type.
Fortunately, typing is easy to learn, and all it will cost you is time. The website Typingclub.com is a free resource for students and writers of all ages who need to learn typing skills.
What I love about Typingclub.com:
It offers a wide variety of lesson plans, ranging from kids' lessons to beginner to advanced.
Lessons are offered in several languages, and there are lessons for one-handed typing.
If you sign up for a free account, the site will keep track of your progress, speed, and accuracy so you can compete against yourself for improvement.
It's flexible -- start at the beginning with the video that explains where to place your fingers on the home row, or dive right in and take a placement test to see where you should commence your lessons.
Did I mention, it's free?
What are you waiting for? Try it out and let me know how you like it in the comments.
